However, the appointment is likely to be an interim one. Seeto has held various senior management positions at Avaya and Nortel, most recently as senior director for channels and marketing.

  • Former Macquarie Telecom customer service and operations group executive, Simon Gatward (pictured left with Senator Conroy), has been [[artnid: 413249|appointed the new chief operating officer|new]] at Communications services company, BT. Prior to his post at Macquarie Telecom, Gatward was head of outsourcing at Hewlett-Packard (HP).

  • CIO Advisory Board member, Karen Scott Davie, has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of Tourism Tasmania. Her background in chartered accounting, marketing, IT systems equipped her to successfully manage an internet start up company for five years. Former CIO with the NSW Business Chamber, Scott Davie teaches the CA program on behalf of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA).

  • Steven Bengston has been appointed director IT — Asia Pacific at coal company, Peabody Energy. He has been with the organisation since July 2010, previously holding the role of senior manager of IT, Australia.
