A look at recent movements among Australian CIOs

  • Former CIO of the Queensland's Building Services Authority, David Elkin, has joined the Queensland Audit Office at chief information officer.

    The office provides an independent assessment of the financial management-related activities of public sector organisations.

  • The former managing director at the US Federal Communications Commission, [[artnid:396075|succeeded by Steven VanRoekel]], has succeeded Vivek Kundra as CIO of the US Federal Government

    VanRoekel joined in June as executive director for citizen and organizational engagement at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), on detail from his position as managing director of the FCC.

  • GE Capital Asia CIO, David Gibbons, will leave the organisation in October to take on the CIO role at online job ad company SEEK Limited (ASX:SEK).

    Gibbons has 20 years' IT experience at companies including Nike and GAP. In March, SEEK announced that former CIO, Carey Eaton, would [[artnid:379027|leave the company]] mid-July.
