CIO50: Australia’s most innovative CIOs

CIO50: Australia’s 50 most innovative CIOs

Welcome to the fourth annual CIO50 list where CIO Australia recognises the top 50 senior technology executives who are driving innovation and influencing rapid change across their organisations.

This year’s CIO50 will be judged based on the responses provided by entrants under two core pillars: Business Innovation and Leadership.

We understand that not every tech chief is engaged in delivering a transformational program all the time. This is why we are asking entrants to describe real innovations – from a small project or program to a large initiative - that have had a positive impact on their businesses.

We are proud to announce the CIO50 for 2019 and we wish nominees the very best of luck, whether you are nominating for the first time or you are coming back again this year.

Steps and procedures

So, let’s get started. To self-nominate or nominate on behalf of someone else, please click on the Nominations’ tab on the main CIO50 page, fill out the online questionnaire or download the questionnaire as a Word document and return it to or

Nominations are open from  Monday June 17, 2019 and will close Friday August 23, 2019.

All nominations will be reviewed by our CIO50 judging panel (see the ‘Judges’ section for bios and backgrounds), who will rate each section of the questionnaire to determine the final list.

These responses will also form the basis of written profiles of our 50 technology chiefs, which will be revealed at an exclusive cocktail reception in late November.

The profiles will be written by CIO Australia’s editor-in-chief Byron Connolly; associate editor, Jennifer O’Brien; and senior journalist, George Nott.

Please stay tuned for more story announcements and updates on the CIO50 process.
