Dropbox, Microsoft in Office integration

Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel users can now edit their documents in Dropbox using Office Online on the web, following a new agreement announced Friday.
Dropbox and Microsoft said users no longer need the desktop versions of Microsoft Office and can use a computer that isn’t their own to edit their Office documents in Dropbox.
Users click the ‘open’ button when they are previewing a file on the web, and can edit the file from a browser using Office Online. All changes are automatically saved back to the user’s Dropbox account.
Users can also open and edit Office documents on iOS and Android devices, and officially use Dropbox on Windows Phones and tablets, the companies said.
Dropbox for Business customers with an Office 365 license and Dropbox Basic and Pro users can start using this integration immediately, the companies said.
There are more than 35 billion Office documents currently stored in Dropbox.
