NBN Co ranks number 8 in LinkedIn’s list of the most in demand employers across Australia, despite a recent management shakeup after the Coalition government took power.
However, the company running Australia’s largest ever infrastructure project was beaten by the likes of Google at number 3 and Microsoft at number 6. Apple was just outside the top 10 at number 15 with HP at number 20 in the list.
Globally, Google is the most in-demand employer, followed by Apple and Unilever. Resources and energy organisation Worley Parsons was the only Australia-based brand to make the global top 100 list, ranking 35th in the world, up 36 places since 2012.
LinkedIn’s ‘Most InDemand Employer’ rankings measure the most sought-after employers based on the number of prospective employers who are familiar with the company and those who want to work at the organisation.
Rankings were determined by analysing than 25 billion member and company interactions from LinkedIn’s 238 million members, including more than 4 million in Australia.
Resources giant Rio Tinto is the most in demand employer in Australia, followed by Leighton Contractors. Others in the top 10 included John Hollard (number 4), Origin Energy (number 5), Worley Parsons (number 7), Qantas (number 9) and Accenture (number 10).
