SYDNEY, July 11, 2006. Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions - today announced that IDC research data confirms it is the fastest growing vendor in the high-end unified threat management market and maintains its position as the largest private security appliance vendor among tracked companies.

Data in IDC's Q1 2006 Worldwide Quarterly Security Appliance Tracker confirmed:

* Fortinet maintains its leading position as the world's largest private vendor in the security appliance market across all categories that IDC measures in the security appliance market - UTM, IDP/IPS and VPN/firewall.

* Fortinet was the fastest growing vendor quarter over quarter in the high-end UTM market ($50,000 and $99,900 price band segment), growing revenue at more than 300 per cent quarter over quarter, while all other tracked competitors in this space - including Crossbeam - had negative growth rates (or lost market share).

* Fortinet is the fastest growing vendor quarter over quarter for unit growth in the mid-range UTM appliance segment (from $1,000 to $2,999 price band).

* Fortinet also maintains its leading position in UTM in Western Europe and Asia Pacific (including Japan), based on strong revenues and success in all market segments.

"We continue to see strong demand in the high-end segment, as well as across our entire portfolio," said Ken Xie, founder and CEO of Fortinet. "Our unique offering for large enterprises, MSSPs and carriers makes Fortinet the only vendor that can provide a multi-threat security solution across all of these markets."

IDC defines UTM security appliance products as those that integrate multiple security features within one device, including network firewalling, network intrusion detection and prevention (IDP), and gateway anti-virus. Through its family of award-winning FortiGate(tm) multi-threat security systems, Fortinet offers best-in-class security applications and services - including firewall, antivirus, virtual private network (VPN), intrusion prevention (IPS), anti-spam, Web content filtering and traffic shaping -- individually, or combined as a UTM solution.
