A CIO is being sought to implement the Victorian Government’s $81 million digital initiative, Service Victoria.
Service Victoria is part of the Department of Premier & Cabinet and aims to modernise the delivery of high volume government transactions, and set a new standard for customer service in Victoria.
“We are working hard to deliver a customer service system around what Victorians want and need, rather than what works for government. We know people want easier access to government transactions, including online options. Our current focus is on building a digital platform to make it easier and more convenient for Victorians to manage their interaction with government departments and agencies,” the Victorian Government said.
Less than one percent of the state’s transactional services are available digitally end-to-end, despite a majority citizens preferring to do them digitally, the government said.
“While the architecture has been well defined, the build and the implementation of the solution will be challenging due to unknown requirements and a diverse scope,” a spokesperson added.
The successful candidate will be required to build a “sustainable organisation” and work alongside a new IT Delivery Director, who is also being sought, who will be accountable for delivering the short term program of work which is expected to last around 18 months.
The job listing added that: “It is expected at the completion of the delivery phase, Service Victoria will have the appropriate IT organisation structure and capability that will allow the implemented solutions to be maintained and supported on an on-going basis.”
The new CIO will also be expected to work with the state's Digital Transformation team and use agile and lean process techniques to design integration services.
The job is based in Footscray on Melbourne’s fringes.
