Compuware sponsored Forum brings industry experts together
to help improve healthcare delivery in Australia

Sydney, 24 September, 2003: Compuware today announced that it has partnered with the University of Sydney Foundation for Information Technology to host a major IT and healthcare forum. Sponsored by Compuware, the event will focus on the present and future need for IT and research to improve healthcare delivery. The conference will take place on Wednesday 8 October 2003 at Sydney University’s Darlington Campus.
A panel of outstanding Australian and international medical and technology leaders will give presentations on the IT issues being faced by healthcare companies across a range of sectors. Most prominent is Professor Walter Menning of the world-renowned Mayo Foundation. Professor Menning will share his expertise in managing electronic records and optimising infrastructure and applications, drawing on his experience at the famous Mayo Clinic.

Other speakers include senior executives from Accenture, Gartner Research, the University of Sydney and the Australian public health system. The attached agenda provides a full overview of the speakers and presentations.

“There has been a lot of recent media coverage on the difficulties and in some cases crises the healthcare industry faces as it increases its reliance on technology. What is lacking is guidance on how organisations can avoid the pitfalls and improve their services through technology. This forum provides a mix of expert opinion and real-life examples that will address this”, says Professor Gavin Brown, Vice Chancellor and Principal, University of Sydney.

Professor Brown will officially open the forum at 8.45am on Wednesday 8 October. Places are limited to 100 attendees to ensure a strong audience interaction. The cost of attending is $795.00 per person. To book your place contact Tina Shea at Compuware on 02 8875 5278 or email tina.shea@compuware.com.
