Expert assistance reduces development time and delivers rapid return on investment

22 October 2003. Sydney… Fujitsu Australia today announced two new ‘One Step’ service products for customers implementing information and project management solutions based on the Microsoft Office System.

Fujitsu’s One Step to Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 and One Step to Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 are key elements in its overall support for the Microsoft Office System launch program. Both make it possible for customers to assess and install Office System-based solutions in less than one month.

Fujitsu is exhibiting at today’s launch and will provide details on its implementation of Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 at Linfox. The national transport group is using Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server and Microsoft Office 2003 to accelerate processing times for legal contracts from weeks to days.

Principal Consultant Rodney Hobbs, who led Fujitsu’s team at Linfox, will participate in a live Q&A session alongside Driss Toukhsati from Linfox, fielding questions from Microsoft Australia team members including Chief Executive Officer Steve Vamos.

The two new Fujitsu One Step Office System solutions bring together the latest in Microsoft productivity technology with the experience of Fujitsu’s consultants, who have a proven track record of delivery and best practice solution design. The result is expert assistance, reduced development time and rapid return on investment.

In addition to Linfox, Fujitsu has installed a new Microsoft Office System solution at Goulburn Valley Water. This implementation was also completed as part of Microsoft’s Rapid Adoption Program and will see the Victorian utility save in excess of $70,000 a year by moving from paper-based to electronic processing of employee timesheets.

“Fujitsu is committed to delivering the latest in Microsoft technology to customers and is widely recognised as a leading provider of portals built on the Microsoft platform. We work closely with Microsoft on a global basis to ensure we stay at the cutting edge. This relationship enables our customers to participate in fast-track adoption programs that deliver competitive advantage,” said Mr Hobbs.

One Step to Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 enables companies to improve the way they manage projects. It provides a structured approach for improved visibility of workflows plus data for better analysis and decision making. Companies can improve project management by establishing repeatable processes and optimising resource utilisation. Further, Project Server enhances information sharing and coordination for better collaboration and progress reporting among team members.

One Step to Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003 allows organisations to quickly and cost-effectively build centralised browser-based portals. These portals connect knowledge workers and information resources, making them available to users in appropriate and relevant ways. The result is dynamic information delivery, streamlined process management, better team collaboration and productivity.

For each solution, Fujitsu’s consultants work with the customer to identify needs, design an optimum solution, manage pilot projects then implement operational systems before conducting testing and training and providing documentation. By leveraging Fujitsu’s years of experience in delivering solutions to a wide range of organisations across industry sectors, customers can be up and running in as little as 3-4 weeks.
