Broadband Internet phone company GOtalk Australia today announced that it has secured multi national networking supplier D-Link as its Broadband and VoIP partner.
The strategic alliance is timed to support this week's launch of GOtalk Broadband Voice into the New Zealand market - where GOtalk's sister company Cardcall has established itself as NZ's phone card market leader in the past 12 months.
The partnership alliance with the market leading international award winning designer, developer, and manufacturer of networking, Broadband, digital electronics, voice and data communications solutions will add important leading edge hardware support and substantial retail distribution muscle to GOtalk's ability to service its recently announced, dramatically expanded, all-state metropolitan and regional Australia wide VoIP capability.
(NOTE: GOtalk Broadband Voice has announced it has expanded its VoIP service capability to 215 geographic telecommunications zones, the first VoIP company to offer a fully national - all states and major region - local access phone number VoIP service in Australia. A complete list of towns and country regions covered by the new VoIP service are available on request.)

GOtalk Broadband Voice (www.GOtalk.com.au) is the VoIP Internet phone division of fast growing, second tier telco Telecorp Limited. The four year old full service telco which dominates the phone card sector of the telecommunications market in Australia and New Zealand, launched its consumer VoIP service, GOtalk Broadband Voice in June, initially with an exclusive retail agreement with Harvey Norman Computerstores.

"We believe this partnership with D-Link secures our position as the market leading combined VoIP and Broadband provider in Australia and New Zealand," GOtalk CEO Steve Picton said today.

"GOtalk is strategically focussed on increasing the range and quality of its services by partnering with established technology leaders in order to deliver to consumers competitive and attractive choices when they decide to upgrade their voice and Internet services.

"GOtalk prepaid and postpaid VoIP services come with a geographic number, enabling people to receive as well as make phone call’s, with all calls to fixed lines charged at 9.9C untimed. For $5 a month customers can add an additional number which further enhances the attractiveness of the GOtalk service, particularly to small businesses operating in both metropolitan and regional areas.”

"GOtalk's increased geographic coverage means that more than 90% of Australian’s can now have a Local Access number in their area over our GOtalk Broadband Voice (VoIP) service. Previously, all Australian VoIP providers combined could offer coverage across only a dozen or so local areas," he said.

Mr. Picton said that with D-Link's strong retail connections, GOtalk's distribution would now extend beyond Harvey Norman to include Dick Smith and other retail chains.

"However our relationship with Harvey Norman will continue to be extremely important," Mr.Picton said.

"For example our new geographic expansion and D-Link partnership will mean that GOtalk Broadband Voice will be able to offer Internet phone services to the customers of every Harvey Norman Computerstore in every state and region in Australia," Mr. Picton said.

Welcoming the new relationship with GOtalk, D-Link ANZ Managing Director Domenic Torre said that careful selection of partners was one of the driving factors behind the company's mass market growth.

"We are delighted to team up with GOtalk Broadband as we believe they are not only a service provider of the highest quality - but one which we are confident will become a very significant player in what is a highly competitive sector," Mr. Torre said.

GOtalk Australia is a rapidly growing, second tier communications company with a range of services including complete voice ( local calls, long distance and line rental), Internet (both dialup and Broadband), Broadband Voice (VoIP), calling card and mobile services. GOtalk's parent company Telecorp Limited is an Australian owned publicly unlisted company with sales in excess of $150 million per annum and over 300 staff Australia wide.
