HTC has no plans to release First smartphone in Australia, it revealed today.
The HTC First is a new mid-range smartphone that was unveiled overnight at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California.
It is the first Android phone to come pre-loaded with Facebook Home, a new software launcher for Android phones.
The software overlay gives users quick access to Facebook services from the lock and home screens.
The First will launch in the US, UK and France, but HTC has confirmed it has no plans to launch the smartphone in Australia.
"The HTC First wlll initially be available in the US through AT&T and will be available with Orange in France and EE in the UK shortly," said a HTC spokesperson.
"There is no information available on Australian availability."
The HTC First has a 4.3in screen, runs the 4.1 Jelly Bean version of Android and comes in four different colours: red, blue, white and black. It is a 4G compatible device.
