Optus has released three new BYO mobile phone plans for users who already have an unlocked mobile phone or smartphone.
Two of the new plans don't require a fixed contract while the other is available on a 12-month plan.
The new Optus BYO offerings include $20 and $40 plans available on a month-to-month term, and a $60 plan available only on a 12-month contract.
The $60 Optus plan is an "introductory offer" that will revert to $65 per month from Monday 1 July.
All three of the new BYO plans will work on the Optus 4G network, provided the mobile device is compatible with the 1800MHz 4G network band.
The $20 and $40 BYO plans plans include 200MB and 1GB of data per month, respectively, and offer $200 and $500 worth of included calls and text value.
The included value can be used for standard SMS and MMS messages, standard voice calls to Australian fixed lines and Australian mobile number, calls to 13/1300 and 1800 numbers, and voicemail.
The $60 BYO plan offers 2GB of data and unlimited calls, SMS, MMS and voicemail.
All three plans bill excess data at 25 cents per megabyte (MB) while data usage is counted in kilobytes (kB).
More details of the Optus BYO plans can be found on the Optus website.
