McAfee A/NZ vice president and managing director, Andrew Littleproud, has been promoted to the Asia-Pacific president role.
Littleproud will oversee all of the security vendor’s business operations across North Asia, South East Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
He steps into the role after Steve Redman took up the executive vice-president of global sales position at McAfee’s Santa Clara headquarters.
Littleproud said he will continue the vendor’s “strong customer focus” going into 2013.
“My focus for 2013 will be to extend position as a market leading information security solution provider across Asia-Pacific,” he said.
At the same time, Littleproud will concentrate on growing the presence of McAfee’s Security Connected framework among small, medium, corporate and government businesses in Asia Pacific, starting with "improved engagement" with the vendor’s partner network.
Corporate Social Responsibility is another area that Littleproud will focus on, having recently announced the bCyberwise initiative in association with Life Education.
“An initiative I am particularly passionate about is the McAfee CyberEducation program, which will see thousands of Australian school children educated about cyber safety in 2013 through McAfee’s partnership with Life Education,” he said.
“It was a very proud moment to be able to launch the program alongside Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, recently and see McAfee’s security expertise and cyber awareness benefit Australia’s youngest generation.”
Prior to joining McAfee, Littleproud worked at EMC, Xerox and Oracle.
