Australian finance professionals view overseas experience as crucial to career development, with a large majority willing to take a job in another country.
Around 79% of finance professionals thought overseas experience was important to their career, and 86% would consider accepting a job abroad, according to a survey from eFinancialCareers.
Worldwide, the figures were even higher, with 88% valuing overseas experience and 91% willing to work overseas.
The majority of respondents from Australia and worldwide thought Asia-Pacific had the most job opportunities, and Asian destinations such as Singapore and Hong Kong were popular markets to want to relocate to.
But more than three quarters of Australian respondents would require a 20% increase in salary to relocate overseas.
A similar percentage said they have been approached by headhunters since the start of the year.
Nevertheless, Australian finance professionals have a more pessimistic view than their global peers of the current job market, with only 36% believing it is easy to find a job at present.
Over 80% of respondents indicated feeling confident to very confident about the global economic outlook for 2011.
