Technology development and investment company Techniche (ASX:ABN) has appointed Donna Salvatore as its new CEO.
Salvatore, a US citizen, will also take on the role of president of Urgent Technology, the IT services and web app development company which Techniche purchased for £3.1 million ( $5.1 million) in June last year. Her appointment is effective from July 5.
Prior to joining Techniche, Salvatore was president and CEO of Health e Technologies and Cognitor, and has over 20 years' experience in technology company management.
Salvatore also has a background in the petroleum business, which Techniche cited as a factor in the decision as the company recently reached a potentially lucrative agreement with the American Petroleum Institute.
Salvatore is a resident of Chicago. Urgent opened a Chicago office in November in response to increased orders from the US market, and the city will now become the corporate headquarters for Techniche, the company said.
In a statement, the company said directing the corporate activities from Australia had been inefficient and time consuming.
Techniche also expects US customers to grow more comfortable dealing with what will effectively be a US corporation.
TCN shares stayed flat on Friday at $0.036.
