Traffic Technologies wins $1m in UK deals

Traffic Technologies (ASX:TTI) has revealed its subsidiary, Clearsonics, has won nearly $1 million worth of deals to deploy emergency telephone systems in the British Isles.

Clearsonics has signed a $500,000 contract to deploy 300 emergency roadside telephones in Ireland.

The company said it has developed a GSM-based solar help phone to meet the requirements of Ireland's National Roads Authority, which it will be able to market in Europe, the UK and Australasia.

Northern Rail in the UK has meanwhile tapped Clearsonics to provide its Emergency Help Phones for over 100 railway stations, in a deal worth an estimated $450,000.

The phones will be installed through a combination of wall-mounted and pedestal style phones, Traffic Technologies said. The deal includes the supply of backup and support services,

In another win in the UK, fellow Traffic Technologies subsidiary Aldbridge Traffic Systems has received a signal order from the city of Derby.

The deal, the value of which has been left undisclosed, is the group's first for the supply of traffic signals into the UK market.

Traffic Technologies specialises in the development of “smart” traffic lights, using LED technology. The company this year sold its Traffic Management business to Workforce International for $14.5 million.

TTI shares grew 3.33% in Monday's trading to close at $0.031.
