Satellite operator NewSat (ASX:NWT) has announced $1 million worth of newly-won transmission deals.
The company, which in February expanded its capacity by acquiring the rights to offer services via seven orbital slots covering every continent, said it had signed 30 high-grade new contracts since then.
These include several deals in oil, mining and gas exploration sites, NewSat said.
Including a number of new deals announced in January, this brings the total value of contracts NewSat has signed this year to at least $3.8 million.
The company also announced $3 million worth of agreements in early December last year.
“Calendar 2011 is shaping up to be a groundbreaking year for NewSat as we progress every phase of our Jabiru Satellite Program towards a 2013 launch,” NewSat CEO Adrian Ballantine said.
NewSat last Thursday revealed that Ballantine had been named Teleport Executive of the Year by satellite group World Teleport Association.
NWT shares stayed flat on Tuesday at $0.007.
