iiNet signs sports TV IPTV deals

ISP iiNet (ASX:IIN) has secured the Australian rights to the club channels of English Premier League teams Chelsea and Manchester City.

Under the three-year deal, iiNet will offer these channels through its Freezone, and directly to TV sets using IPTV service fetchtv 2.

The content will include Premier League matches, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa games, FA Cup matches, and other games played by the clubs.

It is the first Australian deal between a Premier League team channel and an ISP.

The company has also announced a deal to include FOX Sports News on fetch tv 2.

IIN shares are today trading 0.35% lower at $2.870.
