iseek launches $44m QLD data centre

Queensland company iseek has opened a $44 million energy efficient data centre in Brisbane.

The facility is the highest capacity of its kind in the state, premier Anna Bligh said at the opening.

“This is a cutting edge facility that is capable of transferring the entire Library of Congress every 15 minutes,” she said.

The data centre uses a free cooling system to help reduce energy costs, and is one of the first facilities in Australia to do so, Bligh added.
