Donald McGauchie has been appointed the new chairman of chemical manufacturer Nufarm (ASX:NUF).
McGauchie takes over from Kerry Hoggard, who has retired due to serious health considerations.
Hoggard has been working for Nufarm, previously known as Fernz Corporation, for 53 years, and was elected chairman in 2000, the year Fernz migrated to Australia and renamed itself Nufarm.
McGauchie is a former Telstra chairman. He assumed that role in 2004, and was voted out by shareholders last year. He has been a Nufarm director since 2003.
Nufarm has meanwhile entered a trading halt for up to two days pending the announcement of a trading update.
