AUSTAR launches video on demand service

Satellite television and telecom service provider AUSTAR (ASX:AUN) has launched an IPTV-based video on demand service for regional Australians.

The company said its new AUSTAR Anywhere service would be available free with a subscription to AUSTAR television services.

The service will offer content downloads and streaming of programming from AUSTAR's 38 channels, as well as online-only channels such as ESPN360 and Setanta-i.

Austar exclusively focuses on providing services for regional and rural Australians.
