Webjet enters 50/50 JV in Hong Kong

Online travel agency Webjet (ASX:WEB) has entered into a 50-50 JV with Hong Kong travel agency Westminster Travel in order to expand into Asia.

The company said it would commence operations under the Web Jet brand in Hong Kong and Singapore later this year, in its first expansion into the Asian market.

The company, which also expanded into Nortth America in April, said Westminster Travel will provide local management and multilingual customer service facilities to the venture.

The JV company will be chaired by David Clark. Westminster Travel's managing director, Larry Lo, and finance director, Henry Chu, will serve as local directors.
