Connxion to form Chinese data centre JV

Data and transaction services company Connxion Ventures (ASX:CXN) has announced plans to form a JV in China with Chinese data centre operator Global Data Solutions (GDS).

Under the terms of the JV agreement, Connxion and GDS will form GDS-CXN Data Services. The JV's services will combine infrastructure from GDS and data and transaction services from Connxion.

Connxion will invest up to $2.5 million in the business and establish a JV office and team in Beijing.

Connxion CEO Bill Brooks said the venture is a “high risk and high return opportunity” for his company.

“We are in the fortunate position of being able to utilise the data centre infrastructure from a network of nine T4 [rated] data centres,” he said.
