STW Communications (ASX:SGN) is more confident about the company’s prospects for 2010, according to its top executives.
At the company’s annual general meeting, chairman Robert Mactier said that while he is “on record using the term 'cautiously optimistic’ as we look ahead… I am now leaning more towards being optimistic and less toward being cautious.”
But he cautioned that it was too early to “drop the 'cautious’ tag altogether.”
CEO Michael Connaghan added that the company had experienced its strongest quarter for years in its first quarter, and that April revenue to date were up 12% on the prior corresponding period.
At the AGM, directors Mactier and Ian Tsicalas were re-elected, and shareholders passed a resolution to lift the cap on non-executive directors’ fees.
