Powerlan appoints VP to drive energy sector push

IT product and service developer Powerlan has appointed Bob Darwin as its new vice president of utilities for its Clarity unit.

Clarity currently develops OSS solutions for the telecom sector, but is looking to enter the global utilities market as well. Darwin will drive these efforts, Powerlan said.

Darwin has over 30 years experience in the utilities and telecom sectors working for companies such as Telstra, Aurora Energy and the Hydro-Electric Corporation.

“I am delighted to have bob on board,” Clarity CEO Jon Newbery said. “He will be responsible for the business development and market strategies that will support innovation and change in this new market.”
