Manaccom lifts 1H profit 12% to $1.15m

Manaccom (ASX:MNL) lifted its net profit 12% to $1.15 million in 1H10, with money from its online lottery division outbalancing losses from its software distribution unit.

The company earned pre-tax profits of $2.7 million from its online lottery business, but its software distribution business recorded pre-tax losses of $480,000.

Mannacom said its software distribution losses were mainly caused by the change-over period between distributing Trend Micro and McAfee antivirus products. Manaccom and McAfee signed a three-year partnership in May.

The company will pay out an interim dividend of 0.5 cents per share – its fifth consecutive half-year dividend, Manaccom said.
