Pay TV broadcaster Foxtel plans to launch a new broadband service in the second half of the year.
The company, which today announced it boosted its EBITDA 21% to $238 million in 1H10, launched a catch-up download service named Foxtel Download in October.
Foxtel’s direct subscriber base grew by 5% during the half to surpass 1.5 million. But the company said it saw a further decline in its wholesale customer base.
Revenue grew 9% to $989 million, with subscription revenue accounting for $838 million of the total.
