Swan appoints two new FIRB members

Treasurer Wayne Swan today appointed two new members to the Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB).

The first appointee, Brian Wilson, is former managing director for Australia of global investment bank Lazard, and former vice-chairman of Citigroup Australia.

The second, Hamish Douglass, has more than 18 years experience in the financial services industry, and is currently the CEO of Magellan Asset Management.

Swan also announced that the FIRB had been tasked with developing an expanded version of its foreign investment guidelines, and plans to publish them in languages including English, Chinese, Japanese and Bahasa in 2010.
