Challenger makes the ASX 100

Challenger Financial Services (CGF) has made the S&P/ASX 100 in the latest reshuffling of the index.

Challenger replaces grain industry equipment provider Viterra (ASX:VTA), which has been bumped off the list of the 100 best-performing companies on the ASX.

“The top end of the S&P/ASX suite experienced a consecutive quarter of low turnover, resulting in only one change,” Standard & Poors Indices Australia chief Guy Maguire said.

By contrast, there were six changes to the S&P/ASX 200. The new additions were Whitehaven Coal (ASX:WHC), Kagara (ASX:KZL), Mermaid Marine Serices (AX:MRM), Ardent Leisure (ASX:AAD), (ASX:CRZ) and Biota (ASX:BTA).

Outgoing companies were Corporate Express (ASX:CXP), Nexus Energy (ASX:NXS), Molopo Energy (ASX:MPO), Astro Japan (ASX:AJA), AJ Lucas (ASX:AJL) and Eircom Holdings (ASX:ERC).
