BlueScope Steel to boost capacity at Indonesian plant

Steel manufacturer Bluescope Steel (ASX:BSL) today announced it planned to increase capacity at its Indonesian production plant.

The company’s plant at Cilegon, which produces BlueScope’s Colorbond steel product range. is being upgraded to add a second metallic metallic coating line with in-line painting capability.

BlueScope has seen demand from its Indonesian plant skyrocket since May 2009, BueScope Asia CEO Sankay Dayal said.

“Our existing metal coating line has been operating at full capacity and we have been importing finished steel from our other operations in the region to meet Indonesian consumer demand,” he added.
