Internode widens ADSL2+ reach in Tasmania

ISP Internode has announced that it has expanded its presence in Tasmania, enabling its Extreme ADSL2+ offering at seven more exchanges in Hobart and Launceston.

Internode had only had its own ADSL2+ equipment in just two exchanges prior to this upgrade, offering ADSL2+ through Telstra Wholesale.

The extra infrastructure will help Internode migrate 3000 customers from wholesale services to higher-speed retail exchanges, the company said.

“Internode’s own ADSL2+ equipment gives our customers better performance, and it costs us less to provide these services,” Internode managing director Simon Hackett said.

He added that he expects the company to equip two new Tasmanian exchanges next quarter.
