Deadly tsunami hits Samoa

A massive earthquake struck the Samoan Islands early this morning.

The 8.0 magnitude quake caused a tsunami which flooded as far as 100 metres into the capital.

Residents have fled to higher ground, and there are reports that the tsunami has killed dozens of people.

A tsunami warning has been issued for surrounding Pacific Islands and parts of New Zealand.
