Travel insurance and assistance provider Allianz Global Assistance has appointed Luc Derix as CIO.
Derix, who joined the company in 2009, was acting CIO for six months prior to his appointment. During the time, he established efficiencies across the organisation’s IT platforms, services and operational teams.
Derix said in a complex business that delivers a broad range of offerings, the key challenge for the CIO role is to balance the improvement of business platforms and effective use of resources without compromising customer service.
“I see the challenges of our business as opportunities to take our IT&T infrastructure to the next level over the coming year,” Derix said in a statement.
“I will also be focusing on a new asset management process and rolling out Allianz Global Assistance global IT initiatives that will further improve our capabilities.”
Derix has more than 17 years’ experience in the IT industry and previously held IT-related positions at Fujitsu Consulting, Queensland Police, InfoHRN and Capital Australia.
