ASX appoints Tim Thurman as CIO

Tim Thurman will leave his position at Credit Suisse Canada to join ASX as CIO

Tim Thurman has been appointed chief information officer (CIO) at ASX, replacing Jeff Olsson.

Thurman will move from his current head of information technology role at Credit Suisse Canada.

He has also previously worked at Alpha Trading Systems, an alternative trading system in Canada; TD Newcrest, a division of TD Securities; and the Toronto Stock Exchange.

“We are delighted that Tim Thurman is joining ASX at a time when technology is playing an ever greater role in delivering high quality exchange services to our customers,” Elmer Funke Kupper said in a statement, ASX managing director and CEO.

“Tim brings to ASX a unique set of experiences, having worked for a major exchange group, an alternative trading system and exchange clients. He has a track record of successfully leading technology teams and managing complex regulatory processes, and will add a valuable international perspective to ASX’s forward strategy.”

Thurman will take up the position at ASX mid-June this year.
