Former NBN Co general manager of planning and development, Robin Payne, has been confirmed as chief financial officer following the retirement of former CFO, Jean-Pascal Beaufret, in January this year.
Payne joined NBN Co in 2009 and was responsible for the development of the company’s corporate plan. In 2010 he was lead negotiator for the $11 billion deal between NBN Co and Telstra.
“I’ve inherited a strong finance function and look forward to continuing to work with CEO Mike Quigley and the team to deliver value for taxpayers on an infrastructure project that will touch the lives of every home and business in the country,” he said in a statement.
Prior to joining NBN Co, Payne worked for 10 years at KPMG in the investment banking division. He was also a co-founder of the Asia-Pacific digital media company, Anytime PTE.
In March, NBN Co detailed a three-year plan to roll out the National Broadband Network (NBN) to 3.5 million premises across Australia by June 2015.
