SMS glitch for customers switching from BlackBerry to HTC

Entire SMS history on BlackBerry device resent, software update planned

BlackBerry owners switching to HTC handsets have reported a glitch when transferring data to their new phones, with all SMS messages stored on a BlackBerry device being resent to their original recipients.

The issue, which is affecting customers both in Australia and New Zealand, is being looked at by HTC, with a statement from the company saying it would “resolve the issue as a matter of urgency”.

As part of fixing the glitch, HTC is developing a software update and planning on instigating additional software integration.

HTC stated that when an update is made available, customers will be notified via their smartphone.

The issue comes only days after HTC launched its Salsa and ChaCha devices on the Vodafone network and as launched the HTC Sensation on Telstra.
