Cisco has appointed Les Williamson as head of its newly created Asia Pacific area.
Williamson, formerly head of Australia and New Zealand for Cisco, will be charged with growing the brand in the region, which includes Southeast Asia encompassing Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Williamson will continue to report into Edzard Overbeek, president of the overall Asia Pacific, Greater China, India and Japan region for Cisco.
“Les is a proven leader with a strong commitment to customers and partners who consistently delivers results,” Overbeek said. “I am confident that under his leadership Cisco will expand its position as trusted advisor to businesses, governments and people in the Asia Pacific region.”
Williamson has been with Cisco for 10 years in various roles, prior to which he held management positions at Ericsson, both in Australia and in Sweden.
Cisco has yet to appoint a replacement for Williamson.
