Sydney’s Taronga Zoo has procured a SaaS application to manage its on-site contractors, including location tracking.
Taronga was looking to improve its contractor management and induction procedures and chose Praxeo from Sydney-based software company Valorem Systems.
Praxeo is a hosted SaaS application that can be accessed via dedicated terminals or over the Web.
Taronga Zoo can now deliver up-to-date induction messages and now has a communications channel to ensure contractors receive timely messages.
“Taronga has more control over contractors and site visitors [and can] automatically tracking the inductions, expiries and re-inductions,” according to Valorem.
“Praxeo provides visibility to the entire Taronga team about which contractors are on site and where they should be (and shouldn’t be!).”
Praxeo can be used to validate contractor company insurance, check individual contractor inductions, display safety messages and specific instructions and remotely see activity, reports, and communicate with contractors.
In 2006, property development group Mirvac selected Praxeo for contractor supervision across some 60 shipping centres.
The application is delivered by touchscreen terminals which collate data if the Internet is down and syncronise it to the Cloud for use via a Web browser.
Praxeo will also manage work orders and periodicals, and can audit contractor activity levels against contracts.
Taronga Zoo is using the new location features in Praxeo, so that specific safety messages and induction control can be implemented for different areas within the Zoo.
