Lifeline seeks CIO

New role, part of national IT revamp

Suicide prevention, non-government organisation (NGO) Lifelife has called for applications to fill the role of CIO at the high-profile support group.

The job advertisement, which appears on Seek, specifies that the role is newly established and comes as part of a national IT revamp.

“Lifeline is embarking on an ambitious expansion of its ICT capabilities and requires the services of a business orientated, results driven CIO,” the advertisement read.

“Key areas for development include a major expansion of Lifeline's national contact centre environment and the development of new online crisis support services.”

The advertisement said that the Canberra-based position will develop the organisations’ ICT and business services provisions, and will oversee some 4500 staff members and volunteers across Australia.

It also said that the successful candidate must have experience as a CIO, the ability to shape strategic thinking, excellent program and project management skills, and strong financial management skills.

News of the new position comes as New Zealand-based MetService last month advertised for the role of CIO to build on its newly transformed IT division.
