Yarra Valley Water has called for applicants to fill the role of CIO, with the successful candidate set to replace current CIO Max Kennedy.
The role, which is advertised on Seek, will oversee strategic management of the company and the successful applicant will report to the managing director of the business.
“A unique opportunity is available for a top performing individual to join our executive team as CIO where you will provide strategic direction and leadership on the current and future technology needs of the business,” the advertisement read.
In addition to providing Yarra Valley Water with strategic direction, the new CIO will also be responsible for matching IT with the needs of the business.
“This key role is accountable to develop and deliver the IT strategic plan to drive business improvements and to provide seamless IT services in line with business needs,” the advertisement said.
With business leaders, including Dell’s CIO Robin Johnson, stating how important both a knowledge of technology and business processes is to the role of CIO, the advertisement said such a combination was necessary.
“You will also have extensive experience and expertise in the field of information technology, IT governance and have successfully delivered IT services and maintained strong relationships with key stakeholders,” the advertisement read.
Media department representative at Yarra Valley Water, Sheryl West, said current CIO Max Kennedy, is leaving the position after accepting an appointment overseas.
The position is the second of its kind to be advertised this week, with New Zealand based weather service provider, MetService, advertising for the role of CIO earlier this week.
