Real estate company, Harcourts, has jumped into the world of mobile technology with the release of its Mobile Agent application for the iPhone and iPad.

Mobile Agent allows Harcourts customers to view the company’s latest properties and news on their device and search across residential, commercial, business, lifestyle, rural and rental listings. Customers can also use the app to search for Harcourts’ offices and staff members in Australia and New Zealand.

Harcourts International’s chief information officer, Jason Wills, said convenience was the most important factor when developing Mobile Agent. The app uses of Google Maps to find a property’s location and includes function such as quick lists for upcoming auctions and open homes, and the ability to add Harcourts’ representatives contact details straight to the iPhone’s address book.

“By launching the application, Harcourts is remaining at the forefront of new and innovative technology,” Wills said.

The app has had more than 1500 downloads in the first three weeks of its launch. The company plans to upgrade the iPad app with optimised resolution within the next three months.
