Warren Hardy has taken on the Australian managing director's role for Netherlands-based telco, Lebara Mobile.
A former Optus consumer division managing director, Hardy brings 16 years telecommunications experience to the Netherlands-based telco, having also previously worked in senior management roles for large corporations across Europe and North America.
In a statement, Hardy said he is pleased to be joining Lebara at this “exciting” time in the Australian telecommunications market.
“Lebara has been very successful in Europe and I am particularly pleased to help bring this unique brand of innovative, value‐based international prepaid SIM products to Australian consumers,” he said.
Lebara entered the Australian telco market in March last year, when it partnered with Vodafone to launch its prepaid mobile SIM card service for local and international calls.
The company also announced that its annual revenues for 2009 totalled €371 million, an increase of 105 percent.
Hardy ‘s appointment is effective immediately.
