TANDBERG Driving Telepresence Innovation with the Introduction of the Immersive TANDBERG Telepresence T1

Sydney – 15 October 2009 – Today, TANDBERG (OSLO: TAA.OL) announced it is driving innovation in the telepresence market with the new immersive TANDBERG Telepresence T1. The T1 provides the same rich experience and intuitive interface as the award-winning TANDBERG Telepresence T3, only with a smaller footprint. With this announcement, TANDBERG is expanding its Total Telepresence solution, bringing high-quality immersive telepresence to a wider user base.

“We are building upon the great success of our TANDBERG Telepresence T3 to deliver a broad range of options to our customers who have requested the same high-quality immersive telepresence experience throughout their businesses,” said Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG CEO. “Telepresence is a growing market and we intend to capture this opportunity by delivering the most innovative and interoperable products in the industry. Already, TANDBERG is the first and only vendor to offer immersive telepresence solutions that maintain the multi-screen, high-definition telepresence experience when calling out to third-party telepresence systems. This is critical for business-to-business communication.”

Now with the new T1, customers can facilitate the same high-quality immersive telepresence experience for smaller groups and for regional offices. Having options to deliver true telepresence to all meeting participants, regardless of group size, is crucial to maintaining the life-like experience that is the hallmark of the technology.

“The T1 enables two people to communicate in a true telepresence environment with peers, customers and partners no matter what type of system they use. By integrating the same 65” high-definition display and our signature Nordic blue walls into the smaller room, the consistency of the immersive experience is maintained,” said Hakon Dahle, TANDBERG Chief Technologist. “In addition, the truly revolutionary touch screen interface introduced with the T3 has been adapted for the T1, making it easy for first-time users to be in full control.”

With TANDBERG's award-winning telepresence, users get the most flexible immersive telepresence solution on the market. It is easy to use and seamlessly interoperates with the entire TANDBERG product portfolio, Microsoft Office Communications Server, and other standards-based video endpoints and telepresence systems. In fact, a report published last week from industry analysts at Gartner recommended that TANDBERG customers invest in T1 and T3 systems and leverage the company’s infrastructure platform for legacy interoperability.

By providing the most innovative and complete range of visual communications options, TANDBERG further solidifies its market leadership. For more information about the T1 and TANDBERG Total Telepresence solutions, please visit or contact
