Ricoh set to impress the production printing industry

Ricoh is drastically stepping up its industry credentials at this month’s PacPrint, taking on the printing of the new PacPrint Daily and becoming a patron at the National Print Awards.

<p>Ricoh is teaming up with Haymarket Media, publisher of ProPrint magazine, for a new daily show paper, PacPrint Daily, at next month’s PacPrint exhibition. As the exclusive Gold Sponsor, Ricoh will print the daily 5,000 run PacPrint Daily on 26th May using their flagship production colour engine, the Pro C900.</p>
<p>Handed out to all delegates, PacPrint Daily will run stories from light-hearted insider accounts to relevant, leading business news as well as latest exhibitor updates and special offers. It will be written, designed and printed on the exhibition floor during the event with all content and design to be done by ProPrint, who has been awarded the exclusive rights to publish the first ever daily newspaper at PacPrint.</p>
<p>“The Pro C900 is the ideal machine for this publication. It’s robust, fast and offers great colour quality. We are proud to have the chance to print the PacPrint Daily and have the opportunity to print it in front of an audience of so many potential customers,” said Kathy Wilson, General Manager of Production and Business Solutions, Ricoh Australia.</p>
<p>The idea of an exhibition-specific daily newspaper was first developed and used at last year’s Drupa. Carmen Ciappara, National Sales Manager for ProPrint said “The PacPrint Daily will be the most high-profile promotional activity at this year’s event. We’re ecstatic that Ricoh has chosen this new medium to show off the capabilities of their production range.”</p>
<p>As well as becoming newspaper printer for a day, Ricoh are proud to announce their patronage at the prestigious 2009 National Print Awards. The annual awards dinner and presentation ceremony have been set to coincide with PacPrint.</p>
<p>“We are honoured to be a part of the National Print Awards. It is the preeminent form of recognition in this industry nationally and we see our contribution as a natural part of our strategy in this space,” said Wilson.</p>
<p>To back this up, Ricoh will have an impressively large presence at PacPrint. The global digital technology company will be showcasing its comprehensive offering of end-to-end services, colour and black &amp; white devices, industry-leading inline finishing and software solutions.</p>
<p>“Digital printing is becoming the biggest contributor to advancements in the production market. It’s efficient, fast and affordable. More and more printers are expanding their business offerings with digital print for this reason, and we are well-placed to answer this demand,” Wilson added.</p>
