Emerson Network Power Appoints Anthony Taylor as National Sales Manager for Telecom Network Solutions in Australia/New Zealand

 • 06 May, 2009 15:00

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and a global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™ has appointed Anthony Taylor as its national sales manager for the telecom networks solutions business in Australia and New Zealand. He will also manage the local configuration centre in Sydney, which designs and builds customised telecom power systems equipment.

Taylor has more than 15 years’ experience in the telecom industry, and has had hands-on involvement in the development of some of the largest communication networks in Australia.

In his new role, Taylor will continue to work closely with Emerson’s key accounts. He will also be responsible for developing new applications and markets to complement the company’s extensive telecom product portfolio.

“Some of the biggest challenges facing Australian telcos in particular will be determining their roles and opportunities with the new National Broadband Network project, what it means for their customers, and the potential it has for all active vendors in the industry in the short and long term,” says Taylor. “There’s also a question mark over Telstra's role, and on future demand for the existing copper infrastructure, potentially providing opportunity for alternate providers.”

Taylor believes that while the global economic recession has reshuffled corporate priorities, there is a growing demand from both the public and corporate sectors for greener and more energy efficient telecom solutions.

“If I could offer our customers one piece of advice, I’d recommend they focus on long-term relationships and understand the total cost of ownership of your critical infrastructure support when selecting vendors and partners,” he says. “You should put a value on ongoing technical and service support for your business. We [Emerson] are the worlds largest supplier of DC products into Telco environments, and have been involved in building many of the largest communications networks locally and globally. We have been in operation since 1890 and will be around for many years to come.”

Taylor is based in Sydney and is married with three children.
