Hitachi Data Systems doubles cause for celebration in Canberra

<p>Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), had doubled its cause for celebration in Canberra today by announcing four new key appointments and the 25th anniversary of its operations in the ACT.</p>
<p>Joining its team of six, its new members are:</p>
<p>- Mr Brian Evans, State Manager</p>
<p>- Mr Nick Mathas, Strategic Account Manager</p>
<p>- Mr Greg Downes, Systems Engineer</p>
<p>- Mr Garry Woods, Senior Customer Service Representative</p>
<p>Mr Evans heads Hitachi Data Systems’ Canberra office and is responsible for all of the company’s sales in the ACT and for its Federal Government client accounts. He will be responsible for promoting the full range of Hitachi Data Systems’ products and services and oversee its client’s data centre relocations. Mr Evans will report to Mr Michael Cremen, General Manager of Hitachi Data Systems Australia/New Zealand.</p>
<p>Mr Cremen said, “As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hitachi Data Systems’ Canberra office this year, I am confident that Brian’s leadership will bring us more reasons to celebrate as we continue to grow our government client business. Our government business has grown significantly in the past 12 months and it is proving to be a key market for us.”</p>
<p>Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, Mr Evans was the Federal Government Manager for EMC in the ACT.</p>
<p>Mr Evans said, “I joined Hitachi Data Systems because I could identify with their vision of being a partner beyond technology to the Australian government. The company has also shown their commitment towards Canberra with their investment in the business and a winning strategy.”</p>
<p>Hitachi Data Systems opened its Canberra office in 1979 with two staff. It continues to be headquartered in Sydney, operating with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.</p>
<p>Full details of its 25th anniversary celebrations in Canberra will be announced at a later date.</p>
