SonicWALL expands its presence

 • 11 February, 2004 17:55

Sydney 11 February (NASDAQ: SNWL) - SonicWALL, a leading provider of integrated security, productivity and mobility solutions, announced today that it is significantly strengthening its reach into the APAC region, building its channel and providing additional resources to fully support the channel’s subsequent growth and development.

“SonicWALL has its sights firmly set on the APAC region, realizing the enormous potential offered in this part of the world”, says Gary Bacon, SonicWALL’s Vice President for APAC. “We are a company that lives and thrives by our channel, worldwide. As such, we are proactively building a strong and fully supported channel in this region and we are putting in place a solid infrastructure to ensure the success of this channel”.

This includes the appointment of new people to lead SonicWALL forward, making changes to the channel to ensure it has the highest quality of value added partners working with SonicWALL as well as putting in place a series of initiatives aimed at delivering a superior level of support and servicing to the end-users – SonicWALL’s customers.

Part of the new wave of SonicWALL talent, Bacon has provided leadership to the APAC region since October 2003 and, in that time with a fresh approach and intensified commitment, the SonicWALL team has grown Asia Pacific revenues significantly, resulting in the region positively impacting on SonicWALL's overall business results.

“We are a company of action and as such we have thrown ourselves into our expansive plans, demonstrating our true commitment to this region”, confirms Bacon. “Our results in recent months in this region visibly show that our strategy is already delivering results. We are heading in the right direction”.

Another recent appointment to the APAC team is Tim Dickinson, as SonicWALL’s new Regional Manager for Australia, New Zealand and Oceana. Dickinson joins Antony Chapman, Director of Sales for Asia Pacific, and his past successes in technology market expansion and business development in the region will be a further asset to SonicWALL as the company fully consolidates its presence in this region.

“The significant growth opportunity in the Internet security, mobility, identity and productivity market, a completely revitalized SonicWALL product line, and a high level of excitement and drive among the refreshed SonicWALL team makes this the right time to expand SonicWALL’s presence in this region,” says Chapman.

In the months ahead, SonicWALL will be releasing a number of new security products into the market as well as putting in place a number of new customer servicing initiatives including its industry-leading online learning solution which will provide access to high quality training to customers anywhere, anytime. In addition, SonicWALL will launch its Medallion Partner Program in the region, aimed at rewarding the efforts and achievements of its Value Added Partners.
