Institute of Chartered Accountants choose Tech One over multinationals

 • 11 February, 2004 09:15

Technology One has secured a strategic win with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) selecting the company’s Finance One product as its accounting and financial management software solution.

The deal was signed following a highly competitive tender process that included a number of multinational competitors, highlighting the strength of Technology One’s software solution.

Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia’s General Manager Support Services Barry Morris said Technology One’s financial management system exceeded its competitors in most areas of the tender process.

“Technology One presented a solution that is expected to deliver significant improvements to the Institute’s purchasing, accounts payable and forecasting processes and cost control analysis,” Mr Morris said.

“The company’s commitment to .NET development and its future vision were important factors in the decision making process,” he said.

“Technology One’s position in the market and flexibility to integrate with Cognos Enterprise Planning’s Corporate Performance Management system and our CRM software, Onyx, proved that they would work well as a partner of the Institute.”

Other key benefits for the ICAA are improved functionality, access to data and the automation of a number of manual process, such as the ability to drill down and view invoices from suppliers within Finance One, improvement in the timely production of financial reports and the introduction of scanning and barcoding to help reduce costs.

Technology One Executive Chairman Adrian Di Marco said the partnership was an important win for the company and a solid endorsement of the strength of its world-class software solutions.

“The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia is the professional body that trains, governs and supports Australia’s chartered accountants,” Mr Di Marco said.

“By choosing an Australian software solution over of a number of multinational solutions following a competitive tender process, the Institute has given its backing to the continual development of the ICT industry in Australia.

“Technology One is the only ERP software vendor that develops and then markets, sells, implements and supports its own products.

“This gives our clients the security that they have direct access to the people that built the software, and empowers them to have a direct impact on the ongoing development of our solutions.

“We welcome the Institute’s decision to implement our leading edge technology.”
