Borland® Management Solutions Now Available

Borland Puts the “M” in ALM; Ships Software Delivery Management Platform
 • 12 September, 2008 06:17

Sydney, Australia – September 12, 2008 – Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ: BORL, www.borland.com), the global leader in Open Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), today announced the immediate general availability of Borland® Management Solutions (BMS), the software delivery management platform that enables software organizations to better track, measure, predict and improve delivery performance and quality.

Unveiled on July 14, 2008, BMS unlocks the value of ALM tools by providing a set of applications that allow software organizations to manage their core business process – from demand to delivery. Leveraging Borland’s Open ALM Framework, BMS plugs into customers’ existing ALM tooling infrastructures, providing an ALM management “cockpit” that gives unprecedented visibility and control over the entire application lifecycle.

“The success of a software delivery organization often hinges upon management’s ability to allocate resources, make decisions quickly, and demonstrate consistent, predictable value to the business,” said Mark Wilkin, Borland Australia & New Zealand Managing Director. “The feedback we have received from our initial customers has been extremely positive, and we are happy to announce that today Borland is shipping a solution that will empower IT executives to run software delivery as a true business process.”

Borland Management Solutions are currently deployed at eight Early Access Program (EAP) customers. The key components of BMS include:

• TeamDemand™ facilitates collaboration between business stakeholders and software delivery teams to support informed decisions around IT demand. TeamDemand provides a “window” into the software delivery organization for business stakeholders at all levels.

• TeamFocus™ is the only enterprise project management and execution environment that supports multiple delivery methods – Agile, waterfall – and rolls up monitored project progress information across the portfolio of projects.

• TeamAnalytics™ is an ALM business intelligence solution that includes a configurable set of interactive dashboards – customizable by role – to present a broad set of industry standard ALM metrics to help management build predictable delivery models, communicate progress to business stakeholders, and improve processes.
