StorageCraft builds team to handle run of success

 • 28 August, 2008 11:01

SYDNEY, August 28 – StorageCraft Technology Corporation has announced four appointments targeted at accelerating the company’s rapid growth in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific.

The company provides innovative disk-based backup, disaster recovery, system migration, and data protection solutions for servers, desktops and laptops that enables systems to be rebuilt in minutes to the same, different or a virtual environment and to help ensure that customers never lose more than 15 minutes of data, Exchange, SQL or SharePoint transactions and do it for less than $1,000 per server.

StorageCraft has appointed Peter Stace as NSW Strategic Accounts Manager. Formerly a sales executive with Corporate Express, Peter will support the company’s NSW reseller engagement and strategic end user account sales. He will help to manage strategic integrators and partners, to solidify growth.

StorageCraft is 100% channel centric in Asia Pacific, selling solutions exclusively through resellers and partners and eliminating the conflicts of a mixed direct and indirect channel model. One of Peter’s primary responsibilities is to engage with strategic partners and their customers to drive the adoption of StorageCraft ShadowProtect.

In order to capitalise on the success and growth in Queensland, which in the past 12 – 18 months has seen over an 875 per cent growth in revenue, StorageCraft has appointed Stuart Brooks as State Manager for Queensland, slated for opening by early September. Stuart was previously with Fujitsu and ACA Pacific. The appointment takes StorageCraft’s Queensland headcount to two.

StorageCraft has also expanded its support team with the appointment of Ian Clarke and Melissa Olsen to Technical Services roles to help ensure that customers and partners receive the highest level of technical support. They will free Technical Services Manager Jack Alsop to tackle more complex, technical assignments and to focus on the free technical training courses that StorageCraft runs throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The company’s Asia-Pacific Regional Manager, Greg Wyman, says: “These appointments will enable us to take our run of success to the next level. I estimate our revenue is growing at 20-25 per cent month-on-month, and we calculate that StorageCraft has achieved a double-digit market share after only 12-18 months – which is outstanding when you consider our major competitors include three of the world’s top five software vendors.”

Wyman added: “I believe there are three primary reasons for our success:

“First, outstanding value for money with solutions that eliminate the cost and complexity of backup, recovery and disaster recovery – after all, how many customers are not interested in rebuilding a server in minutes to the same, different or a virtual environment and helping to ensure that they never lose more than 15 minutes of Data, Exchange, SQL or SharePoint transactions and do it for less than $A1,000.

“Secondly, our 100 per cent channel model in Asia Pacific means that resellers never have ANY concerns that we might take an opportunity direct.

“Thirdly, our focus on delivering exceptional technical support and free technical training around Asia Pacific helps to ensure that our partners and customers fully understand our technology, how to deploy and manage it.”

StorageCraft’s next push will be to expand operations in Melbourne, Perth, Canberra and Singapore, and to increase the number of technical trainers in all areas.

StorageCraft’s success extends to New Zealand, where the company established a presence in Auckland recently with the appointment of Felix Tsang and New Zealand revenue has increased by 224 per cent in the past eight months.
